A qualified candidate will be able to provide installation, maintenance and troubleshooting support of information systems applications and related peripheral hardware. The following is a list of responsibilities for this position. This list is not an all-inclusive and the position may require work not listed in this job description. 1. Monitors and responds to hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques. 2. Installs and configures applications software and related hardware (such as desktops, servers, and related peripherals like printers, scanners, drives, monitors and video teleconferencing hardware). 3. Provides simple software and system troubleshooting and support. 4. Provides technical support and training to end-users. 5. May provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced technicians. 6. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned. 7. Participates in special projects as required. Experience with PCs, Thin Client Desktops, VTCs, DVTCs, VoIPS, Printers is a must. A successful candidate will be a self motivated individual that can work alone or as part of a larger team that has attention to detail and a track record of documenting and following procedures. An Associate's Degree in a related technical discipline or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience is required. A candidate for this position must hold a Security+ Certification or other IAT Level II or III DoD 8570 Compliant Certification. ITIL V2 or V3 Foundation Certification is a plus. 3-5 years of directly related experience supporting information systems operations.
